What is Pediatric & Adolescent Therapy?


Westview's pediatric and adolescent therapy services are comprehensive and coordinated programs of care designed to help children with special developmental needs. Created especially for children and adolescents with learning or physical disabilites resulting from injury, illness or congenital causes, Westview's therapy sessions are designed to be fun and functional, promoting carry over into the home, school and community settings.

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy facilitates the development of gross motor skills- crawling, walking, running and higher level physical activities. We provide therapeutic intervention for adaptive equipment assessment, including wheelchair, splint fabrications, and collaborate with local orthotists as needed.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy addresses fine motor, visual perception, sensory and organizational skills for children. Occupational therapy helps maximize a child's functional performance for daily activities. These activities include play, self care and school related tasks.

Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy helps children with communication disorders such as language development, articulation, fluency, voice pragmatics, swallowing and feeding. Our speech-language pathologists also see children with habits, coughs and vocal cord disfunction.

Getting Started

Getting Started

A physician prescription is required to initiate pediatric rehabilitation services at Westview's Outpatient Pediatric and Adolescent Center.

The Pediatric Rehabilitation team communicates frequently with referring physicians and other referral sources.

Patients can also be referred by:

LOCATION & ACCESS

Westview's state-of-the-art outpatient facilities are conveniently located at Westview Health Care Center, 150 Ware Road, Dayville, Connecticut.

Westview's Outpatient Therapy and Aquatic Center is available by appointment only, 7 days a week for your convenience.

PAYMENT METHODS

Medicare, private pay and most insurance plans accepted.

Cailyn Gallerani

Occupational Therapist

Cailyn began her occupational therapist career at Westview in 2013. As an occupational therapist, Cailyn is dedicated to assisting patients with the movements and activities of daily life through means of physical therapy and environmental modifications.

Tanya Clark

Occupational Therapist /
Aquatic Therapy

Tanya began her occupational therapist career at Westview in 2013. As an occupational therapist, Tanya is dedicated to assisting patients with the movements and activities of daily life through means of physical therapy and environmental modifications. Tanya also assists with the facility's pediatric and adolescent services as well as the aquatic therapy offerings.

Jodi Knight

Speech Language Pathologist

Jodi began her speech language pathologist career at Westview in 2014. As a speech language pathologist, Jodi is responsible for examining and evaluating communication disorders and swallowing disorders. She also develops, implements and monitors specific treatment programs for her patients.
