Westview residents enjoyed a visit from students of Woodstock Academy on Thursday, November 10, 2016 for a holiday themed arts and crafts social.
Woodstock Academy instructor Joanne Johnson accompanied her students and joined Westview residents for the creation of Christmas cards and decorations while enjoying pleasant conversation and refreshments.
As part of the curriculum in Mrs. Johnson’s course, Individual and Family Development, the students engage in various activities with both the young and old during their semester. Focusing on aspects of human and family development, the course provides students interested in future careers in teaching, nursing or social service with real world involvement and experience.
“We’re very supportive for these opportunities to collaborate with local schools and organizations,” stated David T. Panteleakos, Administrator. “Mrs. Johnson’s curriculum is a refreshing and welcomed occasion to build and foster multi-generational relationships. It aligns perfectly with Westview’s approach to healthcare: Caring for Generations.”
