Bennett Earns Employee of the Month

     Nicole Bennett of Canterbury has been selected as September’s Employee of the Month at Westview Health Care Center. Nicole is a part of the important network of round-the-clock nursing care provided to all residents and patients at Westview. She serves as a third-shift Certified Nursing Assistant at this skilled care facility, so she is tasked with filling the overnight needs of a medically necessitating population. This award indicates that she performs her role as a CNA with great success in the eyes of her peers.

     Educated locally at the Woodstock Academy, Nicole went on to graduate from the CNA program at Quinebaug Valley Community College. She was hired in July of 2017 and has taken every opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of her patients as well as her colleagues. As the midnight hour nears, she is just beginning her vigilant duties to caring for the Westview populace. Although there is generally a calm, quiet nature to this chapter of day, the mornings come around quickly—and over the nocturnal hours there is occasionally a more urgent medical matter that requires the best of her and her teammates.

     In Nicole’s words: “I have been at Westview for two years now and it has been a great experience. I am very grateful to receive Employee of the Month, and appreciate working with such wonderful people. Westview is a great facility, and I’m proud to be a part of the team!”

     During recreational and relaxing moments Nicole appreciates the warmth of friends and family. Whenever possible, she looks forward to connecting with her mother and father, Lori and David, and her brother Jacob. As activities go, she is especially notes her enthusiasm for nature and the great outdoors as major pastimes. Whether it is traveling, camping, or hiking throughout New England with her boyfriend, Nicole appreciates the value derived from spending time in the great outdoors. She finds even more cherished moments out on the water where she loves to go sailing and fishing with her grandfather.

     Keenly aware of the 24/7 effort that it takes for Westview staff to keep the facility at the pinnacle of quality care, Administrator David Panteleakos values the gifts and skills brought by the third shift personnel. “Our greatest responsibility is to provide the best of care to our residents on a 24-hour basis and our health care professionals working on third shift are simply amazing,” stated Panteleakos. “Outstanding people like Nicole keep a careful watch over those entrusted to our care and the ultimate beneficiaries of our efforts, our residents. Congratulations to Nicole on being named Employee of the Month.”

Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed inpatient skilled nursing facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed sub acute short term rehabilitation unit and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies including: Sports Medicine, Adolescent/Pediatric, Adult, and Aquatic Outpatient Centers, all dedicated to providing outstanding quality health care services.
