      Patty DeTorio, a teacher at Westview Child Care Center located in Dayville, has been selected as Westview’s Employee of the Month for July. Patty joined the talented Westview team in September 2023 and she works in the infant classroom. Residing in Putnam, CT, Patty and her husband Ron enjoy their time among their family: with their daughter Ammanda and their son Ronnie. With excitement, they embrace fellow friends and their “grand dogs” Jax, Wrath, Strudel, and Canndi as well as their “grand kitty” Alice.

     Miss Patty (as she is known at Westview Child Care Center) delivers her talents to Westview Child Care Center from Putnam, CT, having moved to the area from Cranston, RI in 2003. Prior to her time with the Westview team, Patty worked for 30 years at Putnam Elementary School as a Pre-School, K through 5 Paraprofessional. During her tenure as a Paraprofessional, Patty worked with special needs students as well as reading and math groups to help students towards their academic goals.

     During her free time, Patty enjoys riding around in her black ’94 convertible Mustang. She shares that doing puzzles and spending time among family and friends are some of her favorite activities. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and gardening. When asked about her work at Westview Child Care Center, Miss Patty was thoroughly appreciative towards the facility: “I love my job, and I am grateful to be doing it in such a supportive environment!” said Patty. She went on to say: “My goal is for parents to drop their little one off and not worry, knowing that they are being loved and cared for.”

     Westview Administrator and Executive Vice President David T. Panteleakos stated, “Patty is a great addition to our amazing team of educators at the newest addition to our Westview family, Westview Child Care Center. The skills and knowledge that she brings to us with her 30+ years of public education experience is truly complementary to our wonderful cadre of teachers. She is highly dedicated to her students and speaks from the heart. Congratulations “Miss Patty!”

Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed inpatient skilled nursing facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed sub-acute short term rehabilitation unit and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies including: Sports Medicine, Adolescent/Pediatric, Adult, and Aquatic Outpatient Centers, all dedicated to providing outstanding quality health care services. The Dayville, Connecticut facility is consistently ranked among the top nursing facilities in the nation, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as well as U.S. News and World Report, consecutively for the past years.
