Flying monkeys, witches and even Toto roamed the halls of Westview Health Care Center on Friday, October 30th for the annual Halloween party and trick or treating gala.
This year’s themed party was based upon the novel, musical and film: The Wizard of Oz. The Recreation Department meticulously recreated various sets straight from the iconic movie in Westview’s formal dining room and lounge area.
Staff and residents donned costumes and partied to the sounds of a live country duo while enjoying the sights of Westview employees parading through in a jubilant display of theatrics and costumery.
Following the musical entertainment, as part of annual tradition, the children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren of Westview employees and residents were invited to trick or treat throughout the facility.
Residents sat outside of their rooms and greeted and treated dozens of pint-sized superheroes, princesses, witches and aliens who roamed the halls of Westview in joyous celebration. The halls were filled with the currency of laughter, smiles and of course, bite-sized Snickers bars.
