Residents, patients and visitors of Westview Health Care Center enjoyed a musical performance from vocalist Renee Legendre on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in the facility's formal dining room.
Mrs. Legendre performed a number of popular American jazz classics by a variety of singers including Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee and Billie Holiday. Numerous songs were colorfully introduced with anecdotes of Mrs. Legendre's childhood or of her children's.
As a classically trained singer, Mrs. Legendre is experienced in a variety of musical styles including jazz, cabaret, liturgical and sacred music. She is also a vocal coach and teacher which allows her the flexibility during summer months and holidays to continually pursue her passion for entertaining.
"We welcome Mrs. Legendre back for another beautiful performance," remarked David T. Panteleakos, Administrator. "Her visit is one of the many functions that our Recreation Department coordinates for our patients and residents on a daily basis."
Louise Taylor, Westview's Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Volunteers, mirrors the facility's overall mission of providing the highest standards of care and quality of life by carefully arranging enjoyable and meaningful entertainment and activities while maximizing the resident's and patient's physical and mental potential.
