United States Congressman Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, visited Westview Health Care Center in Dayville, Connecticut on Monday, August 1, 2016, meeting with residents and staff while addressing health care issues including the pertinent and unsettled future of Medicare.
Congressman Courtney also took a guided tour of Westview, greeting and shaking hands with patients, residents and staff while taking a moment for a photograph in the facility’s formal dining room (pictured third from top) with Administrator David T. “It was so nice of Representative Courtney to take the time to visit with us here at Westview,” stated Frances Sharpe, Resident Council President. “I know it meant a lot to all of the residents to see him and take an interest in issues related to the elderly.”
The visit concluded with a luncheon meeting with Westview Administrator, David T. Panteleakos and other leaders of the organization where they continued their discussion of the state of the nation’s health care and the facility’s initiatives for the future.
“Representative Courtney is truly a champion of the elderly and all the people within his constituency,” stated David T. Panteleakos, Administrator. “We are grateful to him for stopping by Westview and meeting with us to discuss the serious challenges that affect the elderly.”
Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed skilled nursing inpatient facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed subacute short-term rehabilitation unit and an Outpatient Rehabilitation and Aquatic Center, both dedicated to providing quality health care services.
