With the 2016 Olympics underway in Rio de Janeiro the residents at Westview Health Care Center in Dayville, Connecticut are proving that it's never too late to aspire for some Olympic gold of their own.
The facility's recreation department has planned numerous sporting events for residents and patients to participate in during the opening week of the Rio Olympics. Activities include: volleyball, luge, football toss, basketball, horseshoes and bowling. Each player's scores are recorded and the winners are awarded gold, silver or bronze metals at the conclusion of the day's event.
"We're having a blast," remarked Louise Taylor, Director of Recreation. "The smiles and laughter that these games have created are awards on their own. Team Westview for the gold!"
