Walmsley Earns Employee of the Month

     Tyler Walmsley of Thompson, CT has earned Westview Health Care Center’s Employee of the Month for January 2018. Mr. Walmsley has been employed at Westview for the past seven years; five of them have been spent as a Dietary Aide and the remainder have been in his current position within the Maintenance Department.

     “It means a lot to me to receive this award,” remarked Walmsley. “I’m a ‘hands-on’ person and my job here at Westview gives me a chance to troubleshoot and help others to keep things running smoothly. Plus, I work with a good crew and Jeff (Pycko) is a great boss.”

     Aside from working at Westview, Tyler is also a volunteer firefighter with the East Thompson Fire Department and is a certified EMT. His other interests include fishing, watching sports, motorcycles and spending time outdoors.

     “Tyler is a very able-bodied and vital asset to the daily operations of the facility,” stated David T. Panteleakos, Administrator. “During his last 7 years of employment here at Westview, he has demonstrated an understanding and willingness to take on a multitude of job assignments and we commend him for his strong work ethic."

Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed inpatient skilled nursing facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed sub-acute short-term rehabilitation unit and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies including: Sports Medicine, Adolescent/Pediatric, Adult and Aquatic Outpatient Centers, all dedicated to providing outstanding quality health care services. The facility is located in Dayville, Connecticut and is ranked among the top nursing facilities in the nation according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service; and U.S. News and World Report for the past 12 years.
