Halloween at Westview

     Westview's Halloween celebrations are always powered by the great efforts that so many of our team members make. Multiple staff members, across all departments, found ways to elevate the joy of the holiday by dressing up in costumes on Friday, October 29. This year, the spirits were supernaturally enhanced as well as the efforts as a "reverse trick-or-treat" was carried out by Westview's Therapeutic Recreation Department to provide a different version of the traditional door-to-door experience for Westview residents in their rooms.

     Individual goodie bags were created for each resident and delivered to them directly. The bags included some sweets and treats, but also included things like art supplies, tissues, and lip balm to be sensitive to individual patients' dietary needs. While such sugar-free considerations needed to be made—the Halloween happenings at Westview are always incredibly sweet.

Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed inpatient skilled nursing facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed sub-acute short-term rehabilitation unit and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies including: Sports Medicine, Adolescent/Pediatric, Adult and Aquatic Outpatient Centers, all dedicated to providing outstanding quality health care services. The facility is located in Dayville, Connecticut and is ranked among the top nursing facilities in the nation according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service; and U.S. News and World Report for the past 13 years.
