Westview Health Care Center's TEAM WESTVIEW was named the top corporate fundraising team for Day Kimball Healthcare's 21st Annual Deary Memorial 5-mile Road Race and Walk held Saturday, August 14, 2010.
Westview, an event sponsor for the Deary Walk, assembled a team of 40 walkers who took to the streets of Putnam in the fight against cancer. Westview employees held numerous fundraising activities to raise a total of $6800 to help provide cancer related services and treatment to individuals in northeastern Connecticut who otherwise may not have the financial resources available to obtain needed medical attention.
"Westview is proud to sponsor this important community event where all proceeds go right back into our local community," remarked Westview Administrator David T. Panteleakos. "Westview staff and residents literally put their best foot forward to support our friends and neighbors in northeastern Connecticut."
Westview received support from other local businesses in their fundraising efforts including Bousquet's Appliance and TV, Walmart and Danielson Adventure Sports. In addition, Westview employee Patty Carlson donated a number of handmade, themed gift baskets.
