Roxanne Alicea of Dudley Massachusetts was recently named Westview's 2010 Employee of The Year by the Westview Health Care Center nomination committee. Westview Administrator David T. Panteleakos made the announcement of her award during the weeklong employee appreciation celebration.
Alicea joined the Westview team on July 3rd, 2002 and has worked as a full-time licensed (COTA) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the Therapy Department.
In an effort to recognize outstanding employees, Westview implemented the Employee of The Year award in 2008 to enhance their established Employee of The Month program, which rewards outstanding employees who demonstrate dedication, outstanding work ethics, and a positive attitude that is reflected in their day-to-day work.
"It is important to recognize the outstanding rehabilitative services and deep compassion Roxanne shows for our patients and residents," said Westview Administrator David T. Panteleakos. "Her contributions go above and beyond the call of duty and she deserves the highest caliber of recognition for all of the effort she puts forward. We are proud that she chose to build her career at Westview."
"Working at Westview the past 8 years has been a privilege as well as a rewarding experience. The cutting edge changes that I have experienced over the course of these years at Westview have been amazing," remarks Alicea. "I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work in an environment with people that do not hesitate to go above and beyond to make our patients, residents and co-workers feel they are a priority."
Alicea has resided in Dudley, Massachusetts since 2005 with her son Nathaniel Jean Baptiste, age 16 and husband Manuel Alicea.
As Employee of The Year, Roxanne receives a $1000 Savings Bond, a clock, dozen roses, Westview logo shirt and coat and 3 days off with pay.
Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed skilled nursing facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed subacute short-term rehabilitation unit, dedicated to providing quality health care services.
