Sandra Walmsley of Thompson, Connecticut was recently named Westview's 2012 Employee of the Year by the Westview Health Care Center nomination committee. Announcement of her award was made by Westview Administrator David T. Panteleakos at the August 23rd Employee Appreciation Dinner held at Connecticut National Golf in Putnam.
Walmsley joined the Westview team on May 30, 1995 and works as the full time Laundry and Housekeeping Supervisor.
In an effort to recognize outstanding employees, Westview implemented the Employee of The Year award in 2008 to enhance their established Employee of The Month program, which rewards outstanding employees who demonstrate dedication, outstanding work ethics, and a positive attitude that is reflected in their day-to-day work.
"Sandy is an amazing individual who takes great pride in her work", states Panteleakos, Administrator of Westview Health Care Center. "I am proud to say that Sandy personifies those distinct qualities that our Employee of The Year program is designed for and we are thrilled that she has been singled out for her outstanding work and recognized by her peers. Her contribution goes above and beyond the call of duty."
"I am humbled over being awarded this great honor and I am grateful that my co-workers have been so gracious," remarked Sandy Walmsley. "If I could share this award with everyone I would because everyone here at Westview puts their heart and soul into their work daily and it truly shows."
Walmsley has lived in Connecticut all of her life and resides in Thompson with her husband Joseph. She has three children, David Ballard of Plainfield, Heidi Ballard of Raleigh, North Carolina and Tyler Walmsley of Thompson.
As Employee of The Year, Sandy received a generous monetary bonus, an engraved keepsake clock, a dozen roses, a Westview logo shirt and coat and 3 days off with pay.
Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed skilled nursing inpatient facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed subacute short-term rehabilitation unit and an Outpatient Rehabilitation and Aquatic Center, both dedicated to providing quality health care services. The facility is ranked among the top nursing facilities in the nation according to U.S. News and World Report.
