Westview Health Care Center owner Herb Czermak, Administrator/CEO David Panteleakos, and representatives from the Savings Institute Bank and Trust, Engineered Construction International and the Town of Killingly were all on hand Wednesday, April 25th to cut the ribbon on Westview's highly-anticipated 30,000 square foot addition.
"Westview's longtime success is owed to the skill and dedication of a remarkable team of caregivers," remarked Czermak. "This new addition reflects that commitment and will benefit residents and patients for years to come."
The elegant two-story, 65-bed project boasts a number of amenities including tastefully appointed common areas for gathering, spacious private and semi-private rooms, a 4100 square foot state-of-the-art kitchen, and an enhanced security system for the safety of residents and staff of the facility. An elegant dining room complete with a self-playing grand piano serves as a focal point, as well as a spectacular piece of stained glass in the lobby that welcomes visitors to the facility.
Residents and patients will be transferred to the new addition beginning May 8th.
"A mild winter and an outstanding commitment from our contractors allowed us to deliver this exceptional project on schedule and within-in budget," explained Panteleakos. "We are grateful to all those who made this addition possible and are very proud to open this new chapter in Westview's long history in northeastern Connecticut."
The project replaces the existing section of the facility that was built in 1950. Plans are now underway for Phase Two of Westview's renovation project. The East Wing of the existing facility will be demolished to make way for a new parking area, a beautiful courtyard will be created which will include walking paths and perennial gardens and the West Wing will be converted to "Main Street ~USA".
Westview Health Care Center, located at 150 Ware Road in Dayville, Connecticut is a 103-bed skilled nursing facility with a self-contained 15-bed Subacute Rehabilitation Unit.
