Westview Health Care Center is breaking ground on a highly anticipated addition to its existing building located at 150 Ware Road in Dayville, Connecticut.
Project plans call for a state-of-the-art, high-tech therapy gymnasium which will contain a new Hydroworx 500 Professional Series Therapy pool by HydroWorx International Inc, fully equipped with a variable speed underwater treadmill, observation windows, swim in place directional resistance jets, multiple therapy work stations and a pool mounted technology package, to accommodate both inpatient and outpatient hydrotherapy services.
Simultaneously, renovations will be taking place to accommodate additional spacious and elegant private rooms equipped with flat screen televisions and private bathrooms with showers to further enhance Westview's inpatient surroundings.
The high-tech, cutting edge underwater system will provide the latest therapeutic technology to serve a segment of the population who would benefit by the advantages of water buoyancy, which minimizes the effects of gravity by displacing body weight. The integration of the HydroWorx spa provides an opportunity to accelerate recovery due to an injury or surgery, allowing each patient to exercise more and increase muscle strength in a pain free, low stress and stable environment. Hydrotherapy can alleviate arthritis discomfort, joint pain, chronic pain and fibromyalgia, while aiding to increase circulation and improve endurance.
Westview spokesperson, Laura Lee Crosetti states, "There are multiple benefits to Hydrotherapy and we are happy to bring this cutting edge rehabilitation venue to northeastern Connecticut, where someone can receive therapy in a buoyant, gravity-reduced setting. Those who face health challenges and need rehabilitation will see the "all-round" benefits in a low impact environment that encourages recovery."
Industry leader, HydroWorx International Inc, was selected by Westview for its ability to provide advanced technology to meet a variety of individual patient needs. Some of the HydroWorx International Incorporated customers include NASA, the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Eagles, University of Connecticut, Houston Rockets, New York Rangers, Boston University; and multiple healthcare settings throughout the country.
"We are very excited to bring this new hydrotherapy discipline to our rehabilitation program for both the inpatient and outpatient populations. The state-of-the-art gymnasium, spacious private rooms and hydrotherapy program solidifies our commitment to addressing the diverse range of patient needs, in order to provide the best possible health care services to our community," remarks Westview Director of Rehabilitation Phuong Nilo.
Engineered Construction located in Plainfield, CT is the project contractor and the estimated completion date is expected by October, 2010.
