Westview Launches Informative Community Education Series

On May 18th, Westview Health Care Center launched its first in a series of informative health education programs for members of the community entitled, "The Backbone To Good Health and Happiness," presented by The Center For Bone and Joint Care.

The orthopedic team from The Center For Bone and Joint Care provided valuable information to over 65 attendees on a variety of topics, which included Total Joint Replacement, The Aging Athlete, Shoulder Injuries and Carpal Tunnel injuries.

"The Center for Bone & Joint Care has been providing quality orthopedic and musculoskeletal care for the residents of northeastern Connecticut since its establishment in 1992," stated practice manager Donald St. Onge. "Collaborating with Westview to offer this important educational program provides another opportunity for our board certified surgeons to connect with our communities."

Westview is planning additional educational forums on a variety of topics including geriatric wellness, pain management, heart health, diabetes, arthritis and others.

"Knowledge is truly a powerful tool when it comes to health care and we are proud to work with such well-respected professionals to get these messages out," states Westview spokesperson Laura Lee Crosetti. "Westview is committed to providing individuals with important health education programs so that they may make informed quality of life decisions."

Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed skilled nursing facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed subacute short-term rehabilitation unit, dedicated to providing quality health care services. The facility is ranked among the top-12 nursing homes in the country according to U.S. News and World report.
