On Sunday, July 12, 2015, the members of Yesteryear Car Club and their retro relics cruised into campus of Westview Health Care Center of Dayville to host a good old summertime ice cream social and provided a unique opportunity to view the classics that were on display throughout the front lawn of the facility.
"Having the cars on campus certainly brings our residents back to an exciting time in their lives and provides wonderful memories," stated Administrator David T. Panteleakos. "We are grateful to Yesteryear Car Club for sharing their time and talents with us."
The club was founded January 1, 1963 for the purpose of promoting interest in automobiles built prior to 1942, including the history, design, construction, preservation and restoration. As time progressed, in May 1968 the requirement of a vehicle having been built prior to 1942 was removed.
