Westview Health Care Center welcomed The Plainfield Senior Center Players to their facility on Monday, May 23, 2016 for an hour filled with the delicate sounds of yesteryear.
Seventeen members of the chorus gave a boisterous performance to the residents and patients of Westview with many of the audience members singing along with the group. Their set began with the venerated song “America the Beautiful” and seamlessly transitioned into a melodic set of easy listening classics such as The Carpenters 1970’s hit: “They Long to Be (Close to You)”. Moosup resident and eldest member of the group, Raymond Gosselin, 91, also sang a delightful solo of Whispering Jack Smith’s song from 1927, “Me and My Shadow.”
“We’re truly grateful for the fine folks at The Plainfield Senior Center to share their love of music with us,” stated David T. Panteleakos, Administrator. “Our facility’s recreation department takes pride in finding entertainment that resonates with our residents and today’s wonderful performance is certainly no exception.”
