Westview Health Care Center is proud to announce their new dietitian, Kristin Picco, of Voluntown, Connecticut to the facility’s Dietary Department. Picco is a 2013 graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I. and later completed a dietetic internship with the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford.
“I’m a firm believer that focusing on a person’s meal plan along with their daily physical and social activities can help alleviate and prevent certain ailments of disease: physically and mentally,” stated Picco. “As a dietitian it is extremely important to work as a cohesive team with not only the patient, but also their loved ones, caregivers and physicians in order to have a dietary plan that addresses their specific nutritional needs so that they can enjoy life fully.”
In her spare time Picco enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Domonic, and their two dogs, Ranger and Riley. She is also an avid runner and recently ran the Griswold Sunflower 6K at Buttonwood Farms in Griswold, CT.
“Mrs. Picco’s role as our facility’s dietitian is integral to the well-being and livelihood of our patients and residents,” stated David T. Panteleakos, Administrator. “We’re very pleased to welcome Kristin to the Westview family.”
