Residents and patients of Westview Health Care Center were delighted to once again welcome the group "Fortezza" back to their facility's formal dining room on November 21, 2017.
Fortezza, a group of 18 select 4th grade chorus members from Mary R. Fisher Elementary School in Thompson, Connecticut performed a set of Disney-themed favorites that were enjoyed by the young and old alike. The group, led by music director, Carol Rosetti, is in their eleventh year of performing. Fortezza, an Italian word meaning “fortress” or “strength” was chosen by the original members of the group and beautifully captures the spirit of each year’s members passion for music.
“Music enhances life,” remarked Carol Rosetti. “Whether they move on to become performers or admirers, my goal is to instill a love of music within them for the rest of their lives.”
“We’re honored to welcome this year’s Fortezza group to Westview,” stated David T. Panteleakos. “It’s always wonderful to witness each year’s performance and this was no exception. Bravo to Mrs. Rosetti and the talented students of Fortezza.”
The group will be performing on December 3, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Tree of Life ceremony in North Grosvenordale as well as performing the song, “God Bless America” at an upcoming Worcester Railers hockey game in January 2018.
