In July, Denisia Richardson was named Westview Health Care Center’s Employee of the Month. “Dee,” as she likes to be called, has worked at Westview since April of 2003 in a variety of roles. Starting as a Certified Nursing Assistant, she has gone on to also perform duties as a nursing scheduler, a unit manager, and a digital patient record coordinator. The digital patient records begin when patients are first brought into the facility and contribute to the continually updated hub of information as new care plans are created across the patient census. Dee’s ability to operate this software as well as her hands-on experience in the nursing field are key features of her multidisciplinary talent.
Dee is a graduate of Plainfield High School and currently resides in the town of Killingly with her husband Allan, their son Connor, and the family’s two dogs Lucy and Abby. According to Dee, hanging out with her family and friends is one of her favorite activities. Another one of her passions is riding and maintaining her motorcycle; having ridden throughout southern New England. While riding, she delights in listening to the rushing wind and the perfect rumble of her motorcycle’s engine.
As evidenced by earning this award, Dee is a valued member of the Westview team. Parallel respect for her Westview colleagues is shown in the way that she conducts herself in her roles and can be heard in her comments upon receiving this monthly distinction. Dee remarked: “I would like to thank Westview and my fellow employees for giving me the honor to be Employee of the Month. I am grateful and happy to have such great people to work with.”
David T. Panteleakos, Administrator of Westview Health Care Center, is thoroughly appreciative of Dee’s desire and ability to fulfill multiple responsibilities at the Dayville skilled nursing facility. Mr. Panteleakos commented: “Dee’s experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant has certainly provided her a great deal of understanding that she can call upon as a scheduler, as a unit manager, and in coordinating our digital patient records. She is a great example for others to follow if they are interested in learning and enhancing their career path. There are multiple opportunities and multiple positions that an individual can train to perform at Westview, and we truly believe in promoting our talent from within. Congratulations to Dee!”
