On Sunday, November 16th, Westview hosted the official retirement of long time second shift Nursing Supervisor Joanne “Jodi” Holton. Fellow employees, family and friends gathered at J.D. Coopers in Putnam to honor the seven years of dedication and spirit she brought to the organization.
Over 30 individuals attended the retirement party, which included a brunch and special presentation by Administrator David T. Panteleakos. Among the gifts were a gold clock, gift cards and a dozen roses, symbolic of her timeless commitment to the organization.
"Jodi’s personality and expertise touched the lives of so many during her time at Westview”, stated Panteleakos. “Her significant contributions will always be remembered with so much respect and appreciation."
Holton received her nursing license in 1968 as a Licensed Practical Nurse and went back to school in 1969 and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1971 from Morrisville State College, formerly the State University of New York at Morrisville. She began her career in emergency and intensive care and then transitioned to long term care in 1972.
"It has been an absolute delight to be remembered in such a special way”, explained Holton. “I truly loved working at Westview and consider my co-workers, and the residents and patients my extended family. I will never forget my journey and the collection of memories made with so many wonderful people.”
During her retirement, Holton plans to spend time gardening, knitting, cross stitch, reading the great writings of James Patterson and Nora Roberts, cooking and baking her grandmother’s comfort food recipes, and is in the process of compiling all of the top recipes in a cookbook for her grandchildren.
She is a resident of Danielson and is grateful to share her beautiful life with her sons and daughters-in-law Timothy and Dani, Mathew and Kate, Todd and Maggie, and her seven beautiful grandbabies, Samantha, Alexander, Christopher, Isabella, Dylan, Deirdre and Julia.
