On Wednesday, November 19, 2008, Westview Health Care Center held their volunteer recognition dinner. The event honored over 60 dedicated volunteers who have collectively provided approximately 4500 hours of recreational support and services this past year to the residents and patients of Westview.
The evening offered a welcome from Administrator David T. Panteleakos, a prayer by Father Sylva Lecours, a sumptuous gourmet meal prepared by Westview's Dietary Department and a presentation by Westview's Recreation Department of awards in recognition for each volunteer's service and support.
Panteleakos states, "We are pleased to celebrate the generosity of the many volunteers who donate their time, expertise and talents to Westview. Every Westview volunteer has something different to offer and we are appreciative of each volunteer's commitment to enhance the lives of our residents and patients with their special gift."
Among the volunteers being honored for their service, newly retired Father Lecours from the former St. Anne's Church of Ballouville received a special Westview parka and bouquet of roses to celebrate his 25 years of Westview service, and wish him well in retirement.
"Together, these honorees embody the spirit of volunteerism and represent the very best of what people have to offer from their heart," remarks Lecours. "I am proud to be among such giving and wonderful people."
