Jill Blain, MSN, BA, RN was recently promoted to the position of RN Nurse Consultant at Westview Health Care Center in Dayville. In this newly developed role, Blain will evaluate all facility operations in order to assure Westview's high standards of care and on-going compliance of state and federal regulations.
In 2008, the 103-bed long term care and rehabilitation facility achieved a deficiency-free Medicare/Medicaid Survey with the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health, and has been rated as one of the top-10 nursing facilities in the State of Connecticut by Consumer Reports. These achievements are attributed to high staff-to-patient ratios and an ongoing focus on employee education, training and recognition. Blain will work to maintain these high standards through enhanced performance improvement of staff and facility operations.
"We are focused on the consistent delivery of high quality care and that is why we have enhanced our Performance Improvement program with this very important position," commented David T. Panteleakos, Administrator/CEO of Westview. "Jill's past experience, education and fine attention to detail will prove to be a great resource for optimum patient outcomes."
Blain has a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology/Pre Medical from Assumption College. She is a registered nurse in Connecticut and Massachusetts and has been employed at Westview Health Care Center in the nursing department for over 10 years, working in various nursing positions on all three shifts. Along with her current responsibilities at Westview, she holds the position of Adjunct Nursing Clinical Faculty at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich and is presently teaching a Student RN clinical course. Her professional memberships include the National Gerontological Nursing Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
"The RN Nurse Consultant position affords me the opportunity to utilize my advanced education, job experience, personal passion for quality care, and continue my career with an organization I revere," said Blain. "Our residents and patients deserve the best care and I am proud to be part of a team that continuously strives for excellence. I look forward to assisting all of our departments in maintaining our high standards of care."
