Westview Raises Funds for Local Event

Westview Health Care Center's TEAM WESTVIEW has again put their best foot forward in support of Day Kimball Hospital's 20th Annual Deary Memorial 5-mile Road Race and Walk held Saturday, August 8, 2009.

Westview was the sponsor for the Deary Walk and assembled a team of walkers 55 members strong. In addition, Westview employees held numerous fundraising activities to raise a total of $7100 to help provide cancer related services and treatment to individuals in northeastern Connecticut who otherwise may not have the financial resources available to obtain needed medical attention.

"Westview is proud to sponsor this important community event where all proceeds go right back into our local community," remarked Westview Administrator David T. Panteleakos. "Staff and residents of Westview understand the significant impact in supporting our friends and neighbors right here in northeastern Connecticut."

Westview partnered with other local businesses to create a number of fund-raising opportunities. Local businessmen Steve & Jeff Bousquet were the first to donate a 26 inch Sansui High Definition Flat Screen Television as a raffle item.

"It is important to the health and well-being of our community to support worthwhile events such as the Deary Memorial Road Race and Walk," commented Steve Bousquet. "Because Westview Health Care Center places a great deal of emphasis on this important cause we wanted to assist them in attaining their goals."

Palmieri's Pizza of Putnam and Jade Garden Chinese Restaurant of Putnam and Danielson supported other efforts by donating food toward employee luncheon events. Westview employees purchased lunch for the day and all proceeds benefited the Deary Walk. Westview employees Marsha Burr and Patty Carlson donated beautiful handmade blankets and gift baskets toward fundraising efforts as well.
