Castle Earns Employee of the Month

     Danielle Castle achieves Westview Health Care Center’s Employee of the Month award for February 2022. In her role as a third-shift Certified Nursing Assistant, Danielle provides nursing care with a great deal of consideration during the overnight hours at Westview. These evening-into-morning hours form a vital connection between the night and day routines for the patients and residents of the Dayville, CT skilled nursing facility, and Danielle takes pride in her position as a CNA during this daily transitional time. On many of her shifts, Danielle finds deep value in the reassuring conversations she is able to have with Westview patients and residents about the progress they are making in their lives.

     Danielle has fulfilled her role as a CNA at Westview for the last 5 years, and previously worked as a CNA at another skilled nursing facility before joining the Westview family. She grew up in Pomfret, CT and graduated from The Woodstock Academy. When her daughters Kailey, Chelsey, and Leah were younger, Danielle operated a daycare center from her home, and this chapter of her life formed the roots of her caregiving passion. As her daughters grew up, Danielle began to consider the next phase of her career and attended Quinebaug Valley Community College; ultimately earning her Associate Degree as a Certified Nursing Assistant from there.

     Family is very important to Danielle, and she cherishes all of the time that she can spend with her daughters and their pets. She stays active by hiking and biking around the quiet corner, especially enjoying journeys around her neighborhood at Ashford Lake. Danielle and her family love to go camping throughout New England; some of their favorite destinations including mountainside locations in New Hampshire and beachside campgrounds in Rhode Island. As mentioned, Danielle has an innate devotion to caring for others and she spoke to that point when she received Westview’s February 2022 Employee of the Month honor: “I love taking care of people. I feel like every person I am fortunate to care for is like a family member, and I love to make their lives better.” Danielle continued, saying “I am so thankful to know that my individual role is appreciated through this Employee of the Month award, but at Westview, I know it takes a whole team to maintain our success as a facility. I am very proud to be a part of Westview Health Care Center!”

     Administrator of Westview Health Care Center, David T. Panteleakos, holds Danielle’s compassionate nursing care in high regard. Mr. Panteleakos commented: “At Westview, we take great pride in ‘Caring for Generations,’ and Danielle is a strong example of our intergenerational commitment to providing healthcare. The success of our facility relies on our staff dedicating their knowledge, kindness, and strength throughout all the hours of the day. I have great comfort and confidence knowing that Danielle is a part of our third shift team; ensuring that our standard of care is consistently provided at Westview. Congratulations to Danielle!”

Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed inpatient skilled nursing facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed sub-acute short-term rehabilitation unit and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies including: Sports Medicine, Adolescent/Pediatric, Adult and Aquatic Outpatient Centers, all dedicated to providing outstanding quality health care services. The facility is located in Dayville, Connecticut and is ranked among the top nursing facilities in the nation according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service; and U.S. News and World Report for the past 13 years.
