Tanson Earns Employee of the Month

     Danielson resident, Jacob Tanson, was recently awarded Westview Health Care Center’s Employee of the month for December 2020 where he is employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

     Jacob began his career in health care shortly after receiving his CNA certification from QVCC in 2012 and began his employment at Westview in December 2014. He has since continued to further his education and nursing skills by acquiring his CPR and PMT certifications - evidence of his selfless desire and willingness to respond accordingly in the event of a health emergency or crisis.

     When not providing indispensable care to the residents and patients of Westview, Jacob enjoys beekeeping - a hobby that he finds both intriguing and gratifying. He also enjoys playing disc golf, and raising and training his 6 month old, yellow lab puppy, Honey, which he does proudly with his partner, Emilia Bordeleau.

     “I am humbled and flattered to receive Employee of the Month during these trying times,” remarked Jacob. “My coworkers have been beyond creative, flexible and brave through this second wave of Covid. I am passionate about my job, especially making connections with my patients and residents, while comforting them in their time of need. I am grateful for the safety measures that Westview takes to keep myself and my family safe.”

     “Jacob’s strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to the highest standards of care to the residents and patients of Westview has not gone unnoticed by his peers and colleagues,” stated David T. Panteleakos, Administrator. “We are pleased to award Jacob this distinction and offer him our sincere congratulations on his achievement.”

Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed inpatient skilled nursing facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed sub acute short term rehabilitation unit and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies including: Sports Medicine, Adolescent/Pediatric, Adult, and Aquatic Outpatient Centers, all dedicated to providing outstanding quality health care services. The Dayville, Connecticut facility is consistently ranked among the top nursing facilities in the nation, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as well as U.S. News and World Report, for the past 12 consecutive years.
