LeeAnn Stagon was named Employee of the Month at Westview Health Care Center for the month of September. As a Certified Nursing Assistant for Westview, LeeAnn is a vital member of our core of caregivers. The constant demands on health care professionals in this era have challenged the health care system as a whole, but that is never noticeable when talking to LeeAnn. Her spirited approach keeps everyone around her in a lively mood; and at her foundation, she is a highly determined member of the Westview nursing department.
LeeAnn attended Platt High School in Meriden, CT. She went on to earn her status as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Quinebaug Valley Community College, and began her role at Westview in July 2012.
During her off hours, LeeAnn enjoys spending time with her sons, Dustin and Tyler, as well as helping her mother, Greta. With a real passion for hands-on, handmade items, some of LeeAnn’s favorite activities include quilting and refinishing furniture pieces. Perhaps some of her most delightful moments in the day are shared between her and “spoiled” rescue dog, Harley. As mentioned, her kind, fun-loving daily attitude is a way that she encourages herself and those around her to perform their jobs at their best. Furthermore, she is confident that everyone else she works with is interested in finding the best approach to providing the highest level of care for their patients.
When presented with this monthly recognition, LeeAnn remarked: “This is a special honor. It’s always nice to be acknowledged and appreciated. Westview is such a great facility to work for—I can always count on my fellow CNAs to help me. We all work as a team.”
As this past year has brought about newer challenges to health care centers like Westview each day, an informed, determined effort is strongly bolstered by an abundance of smiles. LeeAnn is an expert at that. “LeeAnn is a fantastic choice for Westview’s employee of the month for September,” stated David T. Panteleakos, Administrator. “She has an incredibly strong work ethic and is reliable, which is such a valuable trait of a health care professional. I greatly appreciate her good nature and realistic approach to the health care profession...she really gets it! So well deserved and congratulations to LeeAnn.”
Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed inpatient skilled nursing facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed sub acute short term rehabilitation unit and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies including: Sports Medicine, Adolescent/Pediatric, Adult, and Aquatic Outpatient Centers, all dedicated to providing outstanding quality health care services. The Dayville, Connecticut facility is consistently ranked among the top nursing facilities in the nation, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as well as U.S. News and World Report, for the past 12 consecutive years.
